21 Places to Put Funny Stickers (That Aren’t Just Your Car)

Most people find Blum Decals because they want a funny sticker for their car or van. Then they order a few, realise they have bought ten for twenty quid and start looking around for more things to stick them on.

That is normally where the toolbox gets involved.

Our funny slap stickers are around 12 × 7.5cm, printed on waterproof vinyl and finished with a protective gloss laminate. They are made for smooth surfaces and outdoor use, so you have far more options than a notebook or phone case.

Here are 21 places our stickers actually make sense.

1. Your rear car window

The classic. Glass gives you a smooth surface and makes a bold design easy to see. Keep it away from the driver’s view and do not cover anything important.

2. A car body panel

A clean painted panel works well too. Pick a position that looks intentional rather than like the sticker landed there during an argument.

3. Van rear doors

Vans have loads of space and, in our experience, van owners are rarely short of opinions. Vehicle humour, tradie stickers and the slightly more offensive range all feel at home here.

4. Side windows on a van

Side glass can be a good spot for a smaller collection, provided visibility is not affected. If you use your van for work, you can mix funny designs with a social media handle decal.

5. Toolboxes

Probably the best home for slap stickers. A plain toolbox is basically asking for it. The laminate also helps with the knocks, scrapes and general abuse that happen in a workshop.

6. Tool chests and workshop cabinets

Large cabinets give you room to build a proper sticker wall over time. Start with a few favourites rather than trying to fill every gap on day one.

7. Garage fridges

The fridge containing absolutely no vegetables deserves a suitable warning sticker. A funny magnet is even better if you like changing things around.

8. Storage boxes

Smooth plastic storage boxes can take a sticker well, although heavily textured plastic may not. Clean the surface first and test a small area if you are not sure.

9. Flight cases and hard equipment cases

Musicians, photographers, tradespeople and event crews all use similar black cases. A sticker makes yours easier to recognise and slightly less likely to disappear into somebody else’s van.

10. Laptops

Funny stickers turn a plain laptop lid into something that actually looks like yours. Just remember that strong adhesive and expensive finishes are not always best mates. If you plan to resell the laptop, use a removable cover or case.

11. Tablet covers

The same idea, with less commitment. A hard tablet case is easier and cheaper to replace than the device itself.

12. Water bottles

Our laminated stickers will deal with splashes, but repeated dishwasher heat and chemicals are far harsher than normal outdoor use. Hand washing will usually give a sticker the best chance of lasting.

13. Cool boxes

Perfect for camping, fishing or standing beside a car at a show pretending you are not freezing. Choose a smooth section and make sure it is clean before fitting.

14. Fishing tackle boxes

We make a full range of fishing humour for a reason. Tackle boxes are portable, normally smooth and often owned by somebody who has once again caught absolutely nothing.

15. Roof boxes

A waterproof sticker can add a bit of personality to a roof box. Fit it to a flat, smooth area and remember that anything on the roof gets plenty of weather and sun.

16. Trailers

Whether it carries tools, cars, bikes or garden rubbish, a trailer offers plenty of blank space. Make sure the sticker does not cover reflectors, lights, plates or safety markings.

17. Workshop doors

A metal or smooth painted door can work well. Avoid rough brick, dusty timber and flaking paint—the sticker needs a solid surface underneath it.

18. Lockers

Gym lockers, staff lockers and workshop lockers are all fair game if you own them or have permission. Magnets are a safer option when the locker belongs to somebody else.

19. Mirrors

A sticker in the corner of a garage or workshop mirror can work brilliantly. Keep the useful part of the mirror clear. Nobody needs a joke sticker directly over their own face every morning.

20. Sim-racing rigs and gaming setups

Frames, PC cases and desk panels give you loads of places for meme stickers and car humour. Watch ventilation holes and anything that gets hot.

21. The boring thing everybody else owns

That might be a black hard case, a plain cabinet, a white van or a grey storage box. Stickers are an easy way to make mass-produced things feel like yours.

Surfaces to avoid

Stickers work best on smooth, clean and solid surfaces. Think twice before using them on:

  • fresh paint that has not fully cured;
  • rusty or peeling paint;
  • heavily textured plastic;
  • dusty brick or bare wood;
  • fabric;
  • hot engine parts;
  • any vehicle area that affects visibility or safety;
  • rented or borrowed equipment without permission.

What if you want to move the design around?

That is where magnets come in. Our funny magnets use 0.8mm magnetic material with a matte laminate, so they can be removed and reused on suitable steel surfaces. They are ideal for toolboxes, drawers, cabinets and some vehicle panels.

Always check the surface is magnetic first. Aluminium, plastic, glass and some stainless steels will not hold a magnet, no matter how encouragingly you stare at them.

Picking designs that work together

You do not need ten stickers saying the same thing. The best collections normally mix a few types:

  • one big design that catches the eye;
  • a couple of vehicle or tradie jokes;
  • something a bit rude;
  • one design that makes no sense to anyone except you;
  • a meme sticker you will probably have to explain in three years.

Our current mix-and-match offers let you choose four, seven or ten stickers from the range. You are not stuck with a random pack full of designs you would never have picked.
